Situated in the picturesque town of  Ramsbottom, Lancashire, The Buchanan Sports & Social Club, boasts a well kept bowling green, great indoor & outdoor sports facilities, greatly priced room hire**, FREE WI-FI and a friendly & welcoming atmosphere. BT sports & Sky playing all the latest football matches on large screen T.V's and fantastic Saturday night entertainment.
Ballroom hire £50 with a refundable £30 deposit.
Loungeroom hire £25 increments depending on numbers.

    The aim of the game is to turn over all cards and shout PINGO! - to win a cash prize.

NICOLA LOMAX

Club President.

Nicola was recently voted in as our CP, she is so proud of the club and works hard, she can also be seen working the bar from time to time.

KAREN STRINGER

Committee Member

Karen is a valued and very knowledgeable member of our team. Karen helps run the RCGT and can also be seen planting flowers and shrubs around Ramsbottom in her spare time.  Karen is on many Ramsbottom based committees and is very committed to her local town.

EDWINA PATERSON

Club Trustee, Bar Manager & Bookings Manager.

Edwina has looked after the club for a number of years and has a wealth of club experience. She has worked tirelessly to keep our club running. She takes all our bookings and is a fountain of club knowledge.

CHRIS VINCENT

Committee Member

Chris is a fantastic addition to the committee and has been essential in the clubs recent changes and smooth & profitable running. Chris can often be seen carrying out D.I.Y. at the club around his full time job, and is a regular at meetings making the big decisions.

JOANNE HULME

Club Secretary.

Joanne is a regular face in the club and is always on hand to listen to the members, questions, suggestions and ideas. Joanne is one of the founding members of our community group and has a great passion to see the club succeed and works very hard to achieve this.

MARTIN ASPIN

Committee Member & Bowling Green Maintainance.

Martin is a YES man, nothing is too much trouble, Martin Loves to bowl and along with his hardworking volunteers, is the reason our bowling green looks so great. Martin has also been on the bowling committee for several years now.

OUR FUNCTION ROOMS

The hire of the ballroom is £50 ** 

 **A small Deposit for non-members is

required, see below.

Deposit - £30 returnable on inspection of room

after event. A membership is required for this purpose: (£10 full male adult,

£5 female, £5 male veteran £2.50 lady veteran this is a non-refundable payment

alongside the £50 room hire fee).

Our 150 seated ballroom offers all you need for that special celebration (We now allow 18th's - this is with special notes so please ask what these are if wishing to book the room for an 18th), whether it be a Wedding, Corporate function, Birthday, Anniversary or a Christmas Party, large

funeral/wake or fundraiser, this room can accommodate. 

Our Annual ticketed NEW YEARS EVE NIGHT here is always popular!

From a small kitchen for storing or lightly preparing food, to the massive dance floor and ample stage for your D.J. or artist this room has it all - mirror ball included!!

OUR ROOM HAS BEEN RECENTLY REDECORATED! 2022/2023

The room can be accessed usually from 4:30 pm for decoration (we understand this is very close to your evening arrival time so these times can vary PLEASE ASK ON BOOKING).

We ask that no Sellotape or drawing pins are used when decorating please, Blu-tac or White-tac preferred, as well as the non-damaging hooks or Velcro pads. If you hire out photo booths or balloon stands, including hoops and displays

etc, these must be removed on the evening or collected swiftly the next day. 

Try not to use table confetti, it clogs up our hoovers and adds to the cost of cleaners and May result in us retaining your deposit.

Please ask your guests to refrain from going on the bowling green especially any children at your event. (chemicals are

frequently used to maintain the grass & could be very harmful.)

 THE LOUNGE

HIRE of the lounge is dependant on staff required usually starting at £25.
 Seating: 70
If you are after a more intimate feel to your occasion, then the lounge is the place you will be most comfortable.
Meetings, Christenings, Funeral Teas and other smaller gatherings can be held here. The lounge is free most weekdays and weekend days
(please check this as we do have other sporting events on during the day and night and also at weekends).
With it's own bar, access to a small kitchen and Tea & Coffee facilities, this room will be a lovely place to relax with friends and family. 
**A FEE of £25 is required for a 2nd bar staff member for larger numbers, on booking lounge for ALL occasions. 
An amplifier with Bluetooth and two large  T.V's  help add entertainment, although your own music will need to be provided. the Amplifier is Bluetooth compatible, but we ask that you seek help from staff and not use this without prior permissions.

NON - MEMBERS are asked to sign in and pay a small visitors fee  OF £1.00.

** We cannot hold CHILDRENS PARTIES in our main ballroom or loungeroom. We do not hold the specific insurance needed for this kind of event.

NOTES TO CONSIDER WHEN VISITING THE CLUB.
Notices:
1. Please note CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED ON OR IN THE AREA OF THE CLUB FRUIT MACHINES. THIS IS LAW.
2. IF YOU BOOK A PARTY OR FUNCTION AT THE CLUB :
Party guests & especially children ARE NOT PERMITTED to run or play on the BOWLING GREEN.

This is for you and your children's safety.
Chemicals are used to maintain the grass & can be hazardous and at times poisonous!!  When Signs And Tape are on the green, its being treated with these solutions.
signs are clearly displayed, but please remind your party guests of this.
If you have for any reason been on the grass please immediately wash your hands.

Bowling

We are proud of our club bowling facilities. A well kept bowling green can be found behind our club house along with all weather seating and plenty of benches for the warmer seasons. We have several teams in the current leagues and have players from all ages. We encourage & welcome new players.**Membership required

Indoor Sports 

We are always on the lookout for new talent for our teams. We have two full size snooker tables as well as a pool table. Darts is very popular at the club and our ladies team were season champions and & runners up. We currently do not have a ladies darts team so if this is something you would be interested in please let us know.
We have teams who are doing great in the current leagues in mens snooker and pool too. New players welcome.**membership required

Room Hire

Here at the Buchanan we have two rooms for hire: The Ballroom,  can seat up to 150 guests for that big celebration, while the lounge can seat 70 guests for those more intimate occasions such as christenings, meetings or funeral teas. (Special rules apply when hosting  18th's).
